Catalyst Media was founded in 2000 by Richard Kidd to serve the growing needs of digital productions. Over the years Catalyst Media has grown their client base in many different areas including video games, music videos, commercials, and feature films. The company has in developed relationships with artists and studios across the globe, to help their clients realize their vision. Although Catalyst Media focuses its work on feature films, Catalyst Media also provides business to business service, helping start digital media studios from the ground up. Leading up to 2007, Catalyst Media principals co-produced the independent film, Adventures of Johnny Tao. In 2008, Catalyst Media helped Sony Pictures Imageworks complete visual effects work on Hancock by delivering over 60 complicated visual effects shots. Catalyst Media principal, Richard Kidd, supervised all the visual effects for the worldwide blockbuster Twilight. In addition, Catalyst Media completed almost 20% of the visual effects work for the film, helping Summit Entertainment reach their goal of delivering a tent-pole film on an indie budget. Catalyst Media has worked with productions large and small. In addition to film clients, Catalyst Media has helped a diverse client base such as Baylor University, United States Patent and Trademark office, and Texas Instruments deliver quality projects.
